We are inundated with garlic scapes right now! After our ambitious fall planting of over 1,000 organically grown hardneck seed, it seems we are now garlic farmers with crazy success in all the planting beds! We will be selling the scapes for $10/lb direct from our farm, but are also open to selling wholesale to outside markets for significantly less to help get the nursery name out there!! Come buy scapes and support our new nursery and flower farm! :-)

The nursery facebook page is officially up as of today! Please check it out for our latest news and summer updates, and please tell your friends to follow us! Thanks so much and more soon! :-) https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61561335898312 We have had quite a lot of tomatoes coming in from 14 different varieties, and so have been getting out the canner! LOL. The tomatoes are so beautiful, and have exceptional color, taste and texture. I am so excited about how wonderfully they have done this summer, despite the crazy amount of rain and fickle weather. We have started getting into heavy duty herb harvesting, particularly basil. We have three types of basil that absolutely exploded in the gardens: Thai, Genovese and also lemon basil. The first round is drying in mesh ceiling pods and there is SO MUCH of it! Literally wagons full! The bushes are more than 3 feet tall and are so healthy. We are happy to sell fresh basil directly to folks who want to come out and get some, and are working on sleeves and labels. Contact us via our form if you are interested in coming out for some! Catch the latest photos of our crazy back gardens! Packed tightly and THRIVING!! Basil and tomatoes are best friends and they are both loving each other's company. :-) ZERO chemicals and no pests either! Nothing but sunshine and water! Gotta love Hügelkultur beds! We will have thai, lemon and genovese basil for sale as well, along with the hundreds of tomatoes! LOL. Well, we are officially covered up in tomatoes! These are from the six original varieties I started back in April. The purple varieties are especially amazing (see the cut photos below). I have truckloads of others in the back raised beds that from the looks of it will all be ripening at the same time so will have plenty for sale soon! Stay tuned! :-)
HAPPY 4th of July!!! We still have lots of plants for sale at the nursery, by appointment only. We have loads of 4pks of Lacinato (dinosaur) kale, All Star Kale mix 4pks (which turned out so beautiful in my beds!), lemon balm, thai basil, genovese basil, zinnias of all colors, cosmos, mixed lettuce 4pks, larger size tomatoes and peppers (see post below for photos and pricing), thyme, some calendula and more (I must be leaving things out, lol)! :-) All 4pks are $5. Our echinacea (purple coneflower) is also now for sale at $5/pot. I am really pleased with how those are doing and we have quite a lot of them! Also, our flat leaf parsley is available (also $5). And then round two on three types of curly kale (White Russian, Red Russian & Dwarf Blue Curled), nine new varieties of tomatoes, and eight new varieties of peppers as well. I started these later in May, not sure how quickly they would grow, but a lot are already the size of ones that still need repotting from round one in mid April! The high humidity and warmth in the greenhouse is making the seedlings grow like crazy!! If you are interested in curly kale, or the round two plants, let me know! :-)
Some new photos of the gardens. It's been challenging with the air quality issues to get great photos, and to honestly be outside as much as I would like (especially to weed the grass out of the beds, LOL), but everything continues to do so well! :-) Better photos when the sun returns! We have lots of larger sized, gorgeous tomatoes for sale in the nursery! They were repotted weeks back and some even have pretty good sized tomatoes on them! They range from $15-20 ($20 if they have fruit on them). Please reach out via our contact form to set up a visit. Photos below of each available variety that was planted in our education gardens on Memorial Day. They are massive now, and all are in fruit, very happily situated in the middle of a variety of other things like herbs, peppers and flowers! Well, this gate project turned out to be a much bigger project than expected, but it did turn out pretty great in the end. They are made out of cedar and should hold up well over time. The girls are checking it out (Capella is marking it by rubbing her head all over it, LOL) and approve! It is all "Goat Social" ready now! ;-) This was another cedar project that began as a raised bed, but then turned into a bench combination! I really love how it turned out, and it seems to be very sturdy. The chipmunks haven't made it their home just yet (like the raised bed around the other elm tree, where all my tamped down bare root trees are temporarily) but they will find it soon enough I'm sure! LOL.
